8) ok, its finally got to be done.
the front crankshaft seal on my 95 v8 disco is now causing too many puddles of oil on the floor [and anywhere else i stop] to ignore it anymore.
i have read the workshop manual which just says to remove the pulley.
has anyone done this?
does it just fall off or do we need a puller?
then it'll get a clean up to remove a bit more of that nth. straddie sand wot is stuck on with oil!
any help appreciated.

8) ok it's done, all it needed was to undo the big bolt [and a few other things] and the harmonic balancer just slid off.
all in all a pretty easy thing to do.

who said landies were a nightmare to work on, obviously they possess vehicles with less pedigree.............and character...............and don't use off road...............and have them serviced and repaired by someone else.............and have more money.....................and less problems......................................

Yep, I did replaced front disc pads on the disco yesterday, 20min total inc jacking, wheel off and back on. Easiest pads on any car I've owned. Pads held in by a pin and split pin, Caliper easy to push in by fingure pressure to sat allowing pad fitment. After all if off road and you neesd to do a fix ya don't want to be mucking around.
how about the front indicator lenses on a Disco, held on by a sring retainer, just unclip and replace the bulb, no screw drivers needed. And to replace a head light bulb, the headlight unit clips out with a gentle pull.
Simplicity is always works best, don't over engineer things.
