300tdi Air Con Compressor crack mounts - common?

Hi all

Just noticed that the steel plate that the compressor mounts to has a cracked weld on one of the ears.

Anyone else experienced this? I will be removing the base plate this weekend and reinforcing it.

i have removed most of my air-con components, the compressor and bracket are still fixed to the motor.

Hey Kelvin

It's an easy fix with the welder and will reinforce with some steel gussets.

I blame the vibrations from the 300tdi

You too cool for air con?

I couldn't live without it!
