Hi, first up, apologies if I'm posting in the wrong spot with this but I have been looking around different areas of the forum to see recommendations for someone to service my D4, and have come back here, as it's def got the D4 expertise!
My D4 has just come out of 3yr warranty, and I'm slightly reluctant to spend dealer prices (my local being Alto St Leonard's) now it's going to be hitting my pocket. I also want to build up a relationship with a mechanic where I can get a true feel on what might be going on with the car.

I had read positive things about Roving Mechanical in Menai, though I expect servicing the older LR's is a different ball game (at least in many areas) to dealing with the D4 wizardry.

Any good experiences??

Graeme Cooper at 99 Princess Highway, St Peters.

Very Honest and they know Land Rovers inside out and in some respects they know Land Rovers better than the dealers.

There's also Eurohaus Prestige at Strathfield who are very good on the late Discoveries.

I also use Graeme Cooper's, St Peters. Other members of the car club recommend Ayers Automotive in Brookvale as well as Davis Performance Landys in Annangrove. Give these people a call and you will be able to make an informed decision.

Cheers,
Glenn

I use Roving Mechanical for my D2. Don't worry he services all LR vehicles, he even drives a D3.

Cheers

If you in Norwest Greas Monkeys Garage ak Greg 0404 185 383 does LR for over 8 years and works for a reputable LR Independent as mechanic but does some work after hour or weekends. Very fair priced, great knowledge I use him for all my stuff on D3 and D2 as a matter of fact we just replaced the hand break on my D3 for significantly less I was quoted by independent.

What I also love is that I can help and he is more then willing to explain everything which will help my bush mechanic skills in the long run.

We use Roving Mechanical also, Peter is a great guy, fair pricing and is an Ex Land Rover Dealer Mechanic and Auto Elec.

Thanks for all the responses.. both Graeme Coopers or Ayers sound like they know what they're doing, and are fair and reasonable. Ayers prob easier for me to get to.
Greg at grease monkeys sounds like he'd be worth using if he was nearer.
Thanks for all the advice.

I've just dropped my D3 in at Roving, I'm from Newcastle and he was so good to talk to, so easy and honest.

I spoke to and visited so many so called and self proclaimed Specialists in my area....

I'll let you know how I go, but he had so many new Land Rovers of all ages in there..... Has to say something doesn't it😁

With dealer services i’ve found that dealers have different pricing. If you go on to LR’s website and try to book a service at a particular dealer it gives their pricing for the scheduled service and any extras i.e. brake pads, then go through the process at a different dealer and check their pricing. I’ve found one to two hundred dollars difference.
