Have recently purchased a 96 TDi Discovery and found yeaterday that there is water coming out of the footwell vents in the centre console. Only happens after about an hour of driving with the aircon on. Water is initially cool but turns to hot before too long. Don't think it's from the heater core as water looks too clean and can't see any noticable drop in the coolant tank. Thought maybe the condensation drain nipple was blocked so I poked that with some wire. Flow rate increased but long drive today showed the problem continues.
Any ideas what might be causing this?
Thanks

I had a problem with a soggy drivers footwell area but it was a blocked A/C drain. Are you sure you really cleaned yours out?
Hope that's all it is and nothing expensive.
Cheers,
Jack

if its green, its from the heater core,,
if not, can only be condensation,
though why its geting hot is a mystery,,

Thanks for the replies guys. Found this on another LR forum:
"The AirCon drains are located near the front of the centre console, if you pull away the carpet on the gearbox tunnel and look just behind the point where the centre console rises to meet the rest of the dashboard you will see two tubes/hoses, one on each side of the gearbox tunnel. On mine they weren't blocked, the hoses had simply come away from the tubes and water was simply draining into the footwell." Will try this next time I get home before dark and let you know how I go.

To clean and drain the Disco aircon condensate drains you need to crawl under the vehicle and locate the two rubber 'fishtails' either side of the gearbox. Remove each fishtail - beware of the water that will follow - give them a good clean and replace them. The whole process only takes a couple of minutes and should be done on a regular basis - maybe while greasing your uni's. It's much easier than drying the carpet!

Yep...had the same, took it to see an aircon type guy who charged me nothing to clean the drain. Said it was full of mud, much to my satisfaction. Will learn to do it myself next time.

Thanks for the info guys. Took the easy way out this time. As the car was new (to me) thought I should get a full service done prior to me tinkering with it. Mentioned the drain problem to the mechanic and he said no problem we'll do that for free. If only he'd said that about the 120k major service... Anyway, now know it is a regular maintanance item.
All this technological wizardry is a bit frightening after driving a Series III for 4 years!
