The seat back foam in my 2011 110 has collapsed on the left hand side. Probably due to the way I've been sitting - forced to the left due to closeness of the seat to the door.

What's the best way to fix this? New seat? Can you get new foams? Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Dave G:)

New seat foams for earlier seats are readily obtainable - so I assume they would be for recent models too.

Extended seat rails, either fabricated yourself or bought from one of the many suppliers may be a remedy for you cramped seating position - my seat rails on my '87 are extended, raised about 15mm and shifted inwards about 25mm - makes it quite comfy really.

For the foam look up Exmoor trim in the UK. For the seat rails look up Mulgo or www.expedition centre.com.au The seat rail extensions are one of the best investments I have made. Is the seat foam covered by warranty?

It should still be covered by warranty, seat should last longer than that!

Good point! I'll try that first.

Mines don't the same, and I would assume warranty would fix this. Happening soon for me I hope.
I don't think its because you've "moved" over. I think its just a poor seat to start with, although I certainly don't have any comfort problems with it.
Forgot, mines 2011

I had the same thing, they "repaired" under warranty three times however it kept happening as they would just push the foam back in place. When I asked for a replacement they refused but I had so much other warranty work at the time I didnt push it and just got a pair of Schell-mann to replace them.

Have you got any pics/info/price on the Schell-mann seats?

Here you go, they were much cheaper than other brands and I find them extremely comfortable but I would recommend ones with a shallow base depth, mine a quite deep and whilst they stop your legs from moving when bouncing around off road they can be a bit limiting on the long drives.

This may help you fit better. Its the difference between me owning a Defender and not owning one. MUD make a pretty one, for a price! Ill make this look a bit prettier one day (Never).

The Puma is the first Deafener with seats I've had a problem with. Driving seat frame broke nearest the door but the stealer fixed it no problems.
I think they're a shoddy not so comfortable seat now probably due to Ford cost cutting.

Seat foam on the left hand side of the seat back has split in our '09 110. Wondering if there might be some original puma seats around the place from when others have upgraded? Might stick something up in the wanted section.

Apart from that it looks like the scheelmans might be worth a look!

Hi Dave mine did the same but It was out of warranty , I took the outside cover off ,the left wing ,or whatever It's called had just split in two , so I just glued It back together , let It set , put the cover back on. It is been as good as gold , something to bare in mind for the next time .:)

I'm finding myself leaning towards the centre console more and more which I can feel the foam starting to soften on that side might be up for the same mod

I've got mine repaired on warranty - they replaced the seat-back foam and the entire seat base. Hopefully that'll last a couple of years - then I'll look at Scheelman.

Yes that's how mine started - its because of the seats proximity to the door.

Strange thing is with my 2010 110 it didn't feel quite as bad as my 2013 130 strange

Shifting the seat 25mm to the left might make all the difference - are such modified seat rails readily available?
