My first car was a VW Beetle (63). Loved that little car, so much so, a couple of years ago, we were going to buy one. That went right out the door when we worked out how much they're worth now :(

I had a mid 1970s Beetle for my daily driver. It was incredible to see the manoeuvrability of the caravan and the Beetle. A really great YouTube find. Thanks for posting it Mick>

Brilliant concept!!! But.. I agree with V8ian, the integrity of the hitch is very questionable. Although the old dubs are fairly rigid.....great idea but.....

Wouldn't be hard to make a hitch that would stay in place, but you wouldn't want to try it on most modern vehicles....

I can't see the authorities liking it though - you would need a tow rating for the roof...:D
