Hi all,
Does any one know if its possible to run a UHF radio on a series 2?
can the generator keep up or would it draw to much power?
i am only asking as we have decided on an epic adventure once the car is on the road and i would like to fit a UHF to the series 2
cheers for your help

Power shouldn't be a problem, volume on the other hand.....

I was going to use the two hand held's I have and adapt a charge lead for them if they go flat. Didn't want to spoil the dash, but the generator should be able to keep up with it.

looking at the battery leads would be a good start, the one going to the engine block or body is the earth
as for the uhf
i have a icom 440 in my series ii
it has all the controls and speaker in the mic so i have the main part of the unit on the bulkhead behind the seats and have the mic on a hook bise my head so i can hear it even at 110 kph :p

Cheers Incisor,
My little brother donated his UHF Radio to the cause, ariel and all. Same as yours with the display in the hand piece, saved me a few dollars there :)
As for checking the battery leads, we have had the car stripped for several years, we have yet to buy a battery :D
