The man accused of torturing Puppy Doe, whose original name was Kiya, is being held on $500,000 bail after his arraignment proceedings at Quincy District Court on Tuesday, and faces up to 55 years in prison – 5 years for each of the 11 counts of animal abuse he is charged with. There is also a $5 million surety attached to bail, and he was required to surrender his passport.
The poor dog was euthanized after being found near Boston with a number of injuries consistent with medieval-style torture.

He will probably appeal, and some bleeding heart local court judge will give him a lesser sentence

Yeah, I'd agree with that Uncle - give him 54 years.

Seems fair. Maybe he'll get to be Bubba's bitch.

And in this country** five to ten years seems to be the going rate for murder, rape, armed robbery or kiddy fiddling.
**Except Qld if a motorcycle is involved.

I saw an item on the news about a fellow who cut his girlfriends throat repeatedly, and attempted to knife the police when they responded.
11 years.

Give him the chair. Not worth feeding someone like that for 55 years.

I agree with you, but remember that it will cost about $100000 a year to keep him here
I always said that we have to export them, for sure there are many countries that will take them for $20000 a year.

The guy who punched and killed a recent old boy from my old school got 4 years. What a sad justice system we have.
That puppy who couldn't defend itself deserves justice.

That 4 year sentence was a joke. On the matter of the puppy, it's not so much justice but the question of do we want people who like doing that sort of thing walking free with us? Future victims need protection from obviously mentally disturbed people. You either have to lock them away or put them down. If the tables were turned and the dog was the offender....bye bye dog?

A comfy ARB chair is way too good for someone who is cruel to animals. My beagle rates it highly.

55 years although a bit short is a good stint for such a monster if the below conditions are set:
No food, water or moving space should be provided.

Its only 5 years per offence he is charged with and in the US he will probably do it concurrently so 5 years will be the max, no where near enough time for what he did:mad:

what a sick individual. he should be tortured just as that poor dog was. this breaks my heart. someone needs to burn him, slice his tongue, break his joints, do medieval torture on him. then he should be left with no medical treatment to either die slow, or to prolong his suffering by keeping him alive so he can live in pain. people like that do not belong here. not at all. people who mistreat animals always move on to humans next. they are BROKEN! and have no place among society.

I disagree. What sort of monster could dish out that punishment and not be affected themselves? Either you are against torture or you are ok with it. Saying he deserves it isn't ok in my book. I have no problem with putting him down or locking him up forever as long as he can't continue. Torturing him is being no better than him.

Valid point but how people will learn about feeling the pain inflicted to others if they do not experience it themselves?

Mate, I'm not trying to teach him anything, I want him gone one way or another without becoming a monster myself.

im not a monster by anymeans. and am against torture! but sometimes i wonder if these monsters got treated how they treated things then there might be less of it. i am nto against the death penalty, but really the ones who suffer the most there are his loved ones. if he has any loved ones left after such a horrible thing. i get very upset and angry over this type of stuff. its hard to fathom that there are such horrible humans in the world. i know no one would ever do such a thing, as it owuld make them just as bad as him like you say. that is really what karma is for. and karma will get him. jail, where he is isolated from the world will be best for him. or the death penalty, as even though any loved ones will suffer then, that is at least one lessvery rotten egg walking among us.

I totally understand how you feel. I was just pointing out how easy it is for decent people to become monsters if the don't stop and take stock of what they are actually saying. Cheers mate
