Hi All,
I got the RR back on the road last week, and im very happy with its new lease on life after I fitted a new cam, reco heads and had the dissy remapped for gas. Has given me that little more power I was looking for. (can never have enough)

BUT....its economy sucks! I know...dont buy a RR if you want economy. But reading what others get I would be happy with thier results, many tell me they are getting 320 per tank of Gas. I drive it with a heavy foot, or I treat it gently I still only manage to get around 260Klm/70Liters of Gas which is around 3.71 Klm/Liter. I figure I should be getting around 4.5 Klm/Liter at least. Its no better on Petrol either!

So where do I start? I dont know alot about tuning LPG and want to learn. Its got new plugs, leads, air filter etc as part of this upgrade already.

Thankyou in advance

Robg it might help if you advance the timing 5 deg BTDC above the factory setting then reajust the idle screw on the converter so it idles similar to the rich/lean test as you do on the old carby`s (screw it in till it starts to drop in revs then turn it back the other way but count how many turns till it starts to drop in revs again and then turn back about halfway in turns and that is your good idle setting). Then you have to set the high setting which is the hose going from the converter to the mixer on the intake ,about halfway there should be an adjusting screw . This will adjust the high running setting . Bring your revs up to about 2500 rpm and ajust the screw in till the engine looses revs then quickly turn it the other way till the engine revs smoothly and then turn the screw anothr half turn and thats it

good luck DO NOT ADVANCE TIMING MORE THAN 5 DEG THERE IS NO ADVATAGE BEYOND THAT.

Thankyou Sunliner, I will give it a go and see what happens. Doesnt sound hard to do. I know the screw for the hight running setting has graduations around it would be interesting to know which direction is leaner and vise virsa.

As for the advance you hear alot of conflicting advice on what is right. Many say advance it untill it pings then back it off till it doesnt. I had my dissy recurved for gas as that is 90% of what I run.
