Timmo the place we went to was to the south and around Jervis Bay from Huskinson. I believe the name of it was Green Patch. We had a nice lunch in the Pub at Huskinson.. A good swim at Green Patch.. but I do not remember that there was any camping or not. Maybe someone from the area can help.
We traveled south from there to St Georges Basin and had a good time there. At a little beach in the basin, Pebble Beach perhaps, we hired Catermarns and enjoyed same. We then went further south to Sussex Inlet and liked that as well.. all the time using back roads was enjoyable.
Now heres the goss... From near the entry from the Highway to St Georges Basin is a turn off to the West. On this road you can go into the ranges and north to Nowra. You may have to search a little for info perhaps www.nrma.com.au or just ask some of the locals.
Have a good trip..

Thanks twoup.......just got back tonight. We were aiming for Green Patch, but it has been closed for camping since the fires lst summer. It was pouring with rain on wednesday night, but we found a good place to camp by just turning up a track off the side of the road.
From jervis bay we did head up into the mountains to camp and play, and found some good fun four wheel driving. Full trip report and pictures on its way, but i did get a little stuck once, and i don't know how to put the pic in this post so here is a link:

Timmo,
The label says quite clearly LAND Rover. When all else fails read the instructions!
Why do we do these things?

Yes....my mechanic told me if i want to do that - buy a boat.
Shopping list after this adventure:
-New CD stacker to replace the one that drowned
-Lift Kit
-Better offroad tyres
Snorkel (although i will be definately trying to avoid putting it in water like that again)

as long as you dont stop, water that deep wont be a problem

I didn't stop driving...the car just stopped going forward, left side fell in a rut, felt like i was stranded on a submerged log or something. Oh well, no real damage, except the stacker.,.....

Did you walk it before you drove it.???
Timmo
17th February 2004, 10:42 PM
No, i must admit i didn't. I know you should, but the trek would've taken 3 weeks if we had got out and walked every boghole, there were so many, most of them fairly harmless....
I was leading the expedition, so i was first into every hole, and believe it or not i was being quite conservative.... Really thought i would get through this one....
