Grover is bein gtransfered into my name soon, and I was looking into insurance.

As you know we have just bought a house, so we insured that with AAMI, along with the missus car.

Now here comes the problem, the engine. I have a Holden engine in Grover, and AAMI won't insure anything with an engine in it not designed for that vehicle. Now the reason that I looked here was because of the discounts for having it all at AAMI. I could easily insure it without telling them, but can't they bail out of the insurance if I claim, and they found that I didn't tell them?

Options and suggestions are welcome.

Try TCIS www.tcis.com.au and electronically gain a quote.

Helps if you are in a club affiliated with the national body

Thanks fot the hint michael.

I just got off the phone to Just cars, and the result, $300 a year (3rd party). If it had the original engine, it would only be $112 with AAMI (and similar elsewhere I guess). A bummer, but a fact of life. Maybe I should go back to the original engine? Save on insurance style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif

What does everyone else pay?

My 1987 Range Rover 3.5 EFI Auto insured for $5000 costs $450 with AAMI.

I have max no claims protected for life - just had my first ever claim on any motor insurance when a hail storm smashed up the roof on the RR.

AAMI, and most others won't touch it, because the engine is meant to be in a holden.

DGA is looking like another option (part of CGU)
