Ok,
Question time again, ive been looking at discos today and i noticed that every second one had sagging headlining. Is this just due to sitting in the heat recently or is it something that is known in the disco.
Ive got my eye on a particulary nice tdi example at the moment.
cheers

Not sure,
But Landrover did perfect the saggy headlining in the earlier Rangies - maybe they thought it was a good thing and incorporated it into the Discos style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Mick-Kelly,
From what I gather not a frequently a posted problem.
There have been reports of the cloth separating from the foam and the odd case of the foam letting go.
What model years are showing this?
I have a Defender cousin who has the cloth separating from the foam in his.
I hope that it doesn't happen to me I have enough trouble with dask curl there wouldn't be any room left inside if that happened as well!
I hope the covetted Tdi shapes up.

Clever, but evil, Pommy boffins continued the fashion trend into Defenders, too. No 3 son's Deffie headlining looks like an asymmetric spinnaker at the moment.
Anyone know of a good trimmer in Melbourne's east?

It seems to be on a range of discos from about 94 to 97. ive probably looked at about a dozen in the last week and roughly half had it. it seemed to be falling down from the edges or the step in the roof, both foam and cloth together. Ive had it before on a magna after a hot spell aparently the glue dries and turns to powder.
I dont imagine that it will be a great issue as I imagine that the car yard will cover it but i was just curious.

That figures.
Some adhesives crystalise over time and in combination with humidity "give up the ghost".

If anyone saw that pommy show where three teams modify a car and race it, you would have seen the contestants being driven around the cource in the shows Rangie. It was so stuffed the guys looked like they were sitting in a badly erected tent.
My 97 Disco lining is sagging a bit now and getting worse as we speak. The VN I had did the same thing at 10yo butr it only cost $150 for a trimmer at Archerfield to replace it ( made the inside look like new) so I'll probably take the Disco to them as well.
Bruce.

Don't say the Magna word. We had that happen to us in a, ahem, afore-mentioned vehicle. Got so bad that we ended up with orange 'dandruff' from the powdered adhesive. Try explaining that to someone !

Just what i dont want - hey heres something that just came to mind
I have a 93 DIsco TDI two door-
My headlining isnt falling in,
My engine is a 200TDI therefore i dont have the T Belt problems of the 300
My alpine lights dont leak,
My windscreen does leak, But thats because the windscreens are put in
without sealant....
Why did landrover change the model and move onto the 300TDI and up? I think the 200 is the best model of all .
And most importantly its the cheapest !!!!

Yeah, for my two cents:
I love my 200Tdi (so far, so good)
My headlining is lining my roof, rather than my head - just right !
Alpine lights? What the hell are those ? Anyway I'm sure I don't have any so they don't leak either.
My Defender doesn't leak (well except for the vents and the air-con but they don't count!)

Alpine windows are the windows in the corner of the roof on the rear of a discovery  style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Series station wagons and defenders have them aswell. Conveniently just the right length for a shimano sticker

Oh right - THOSE things. Gotcha now.
Why would you want to put a Shimano sticker there ?
Feel free to treat that as a rhetorical question style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif
