Infra Red IR Headphones

Hello everyone,

I just bought a 2001 HSE with roof mount DVD. Alas, no headphones. My question is, will any infra red headphones work? Any info about this would be great. I've read what's posted but it's not very specific. My kids would love to be able to hear what's playing,

Factory LR Discovery 2 DVD system does not work with IR headphones. The only option are wired headphones with inline volume control - the DVD player does not have volume control. The user manual says that RF headphones are also supported. I was trying to get hold of them but cannot source them anywhere. "Generic" RF headphones does not work.

I have a pair of Eurovox which you can have if you pay the postage.
My DVD died and I rarely have kids in the car so am chucking it away.
Just check that the DVD works as they seem poor quality.

I recently replaced my 2004 HSE DVD unit with a cheap $150 one off eBay as I wanted USB and multi region playing. The headphones that came with it were okay but not that comfy. One say my daughter was in the car and had on a pair of the original headphones and amazing they worked.

So we use the old headphones on the new unit. It seems most IR headphones use the same channel so will work across the board.

Thank you to everyone for your response and kind offers. I bought generic IR headphones off Amazon which came with their own IR transmitter. However, I swapped the audio from the under seat FM transmitter (designed to pass audio to the stereo via fm) to the under seat IR transmitter. They worked. I still have the IR transmitte rto use as a backup. It's easily wired in via black/red 12 volt power cables.
