Hi guys,

I pulled the trigger on a 2011 D4 HSE and I have had it no more than a week and today received the error "Suspension Malfunction" followed by "Suspension Failure".

What does this mean?

The car is still under its new car warranty, so what should I be looking for to ensure a long term fix and is this a common issue?

Thanks y'all :)

Air suspension compressor.

Is it at normal height or on the stops?
Can you raise and lower it?
What are your battery volts? A bad battery will cause all sorts of alarms.
Is the steering aligned properly? Bad alignment (I mean very bad) will cause the car to drop.

Have new messages been added in MY11? I've not seen those 2 before.

The wife was driving it, so not 100% sure of how it occurred. The car is riding at normal height and I can raise and lower the height. I took it down the road but could not re-create the error.

Any ideas??? LR said not to drive it, but it seem OK now?

Most likely it will be the compressor on it's way out, but it may only be a sensor, take it somewhere where you can test it in an offroad mode, drive it till it happens again, or take it to a Dealer or whoever has diagnostic gear, those messages will have logged faults in the ECU, that will tell them what the fault is.

If it happens and you go to the bump stops, re=set it by turning it off and re-starting the car.

Which message came up in RED and which in YELLOW??

Yes I second what Baz says, get the fault codes read so that you know what is happening.

If the selling dealer is not a LR dealer I would not go to them to have it fixed. I would go to a reputable LR Dealer or independent to get it sorted. Last thing you want someone who doesn't know what they are doing messing around with your car.

These issues are usually quite straight forward to get sorted.

Had the same problem with mine.
intermittent suspension errors which would clear by turning
car off and back on. Everything still functioned normally after a restart.
had the compressor replaced under warranty in August. Had a fault code
that the compressor was taking too long to fill the tank.

Its in with LR now. They towed it down.

Prognosis, partially blocked something, so the compressor was replaced under warranty :)

Hopefully, that is the end of that!

With the new AMK one no doubt.
