I've actually just made the first carrier to suit the 110 double Cab. I haven't fitted one to a Defender yet, but you can see a picture of the carrier in this thread Defender 110 Double Cab Wheel Carrier (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/verandah/185335-defender-110-double-cab-wheel-carrier.html) Let me know if you want any more info.

Thats what Im looking for.Unfortunately a fair hike to your work shop from Perth.Also would like to see a pic of 1 fitted. Price is what I expected to pay for a good product. Could you foresee any problems with fitting to a d/c with a aftermarket towbar.

Land rover Australia produce a spare wheel carrier for the land rover tub (limited stocks left now) bloody best buy for my 130, would be a piece of **** to replicate, I could take pictures at $45,0000 a pop if you like lol!
Don't know if it would work on a low sided aftermarket tray.....
After reading your post again I see yours is a double can and don't have much of a tub at all, and after my generous offer of photography as well�� you would want to capitalise on space.
Murray may well be your man looks to built tougher than a miners mrs!

The H/R towbar vertical plate on the face of the chassis is virtually identical to the Land Rover one which I designed around, so there wouldn't be any issues with the towbar.
Unlike the station wagon wheel carrier, the D/C carrier doesn't make use of the towbar mounting bolts, the furthest it goes towards the towbar is the 25mm hole in the chassis (see pic below) This hole is used by fitting a toggle, so there is no drilling required.

Still looking for a volunteer to fit the first one, so as soon as this happens I'll have some pics of it fitted.
