HI,
JUST BOUGHT 97 MODEL 130 BIG CAB TO REPLACE COUNTY TRAY BACK.
HAS ANYBODY ANY CLUES AS TO WHAT COMPANY CARRIED OUT THE MODIFICATIONS ?
HOW MANY WERE MADE?
WHY WERE THEY DISCONTINUED ? THEY ARE A DARN SITE MORE COMFORTABLE THAN A STANDARD CAB /TRAY TO SIT IN!!
REGARDS TO ALL.

G'day, and welcome to AULRO.
Just a quick note, if you type everything in capitals, it looks like you are shouting.
Congrats on the purchase, but what does a Big Cab look Like. I didn't even know that one existed.
I just looked it up on google and found that the Big Cab and Dual cab for the 130 were sold at the same time, but how are they different?

Hi
Phoenix the Big Cab I believe was a limited model run in 1997&98
It is a D130 3 seater single cab but has had about 150mm extenshion added to rear of the cab which in turn allows the seats to be moved further back allowing "SOME comfort",I have only ever seen one other.
Lewy110 It may be 4 sale soonbut depends if my young bloke wants it . He has a 88in SeriesIII half restored.
Thanks.....

Ahhhh, I have seen one of those and wondered what the story was. Not sure about the length though, it looks more like a 110 than a 130, but I have never measured it.
Does it make much difference?
It certainly looks interesting. You will have to make sure you put some pics in the gallery when you get a chance.

Yeah I saw one the other day in Wickham Terrace !
I assumed ai was a custom job, but I liked it.
Looks like a 110 wheelbase to me too, but I didn't have a ruler handy.
Hmmm - gives me ideas for my 110 trayback. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Hi VladTeps,
Seeing that your drive is a 110 tray you will appreciate the following:-
A 6ft driver can sit comfortably behind the wheel as well as storing their groceries behind the seats.
The cab extension would be relatively simple to do, but the roof would be the tricky part.
In the future if you really get serious about it, contact me.
Regards......

I've always wanted to be able to lean back just a little bit more !
The roof would be the tricky part. Risky too, as mine doesn't leak at the moment. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif (Fingers crossed)
I know, none of you believe me.
If a roof extension was done it might look good in the old "tropical roof" style....
 Thinks expensive thoughts
