10am - All State Parliament Houses
To protest over recent legislation introduced by the Queensland Government, impacting on recreational/social riders civil liberties, and being considered by other States & Territories.

All Australians should be concerned about these laws, not just motorcyclists. They are open to misinterpretation, are undemocratic, and dangerous to our society, as they can easily be applied to any citizen, should the Government decide so.

The National Freedom Rides are backed by the Free Australia Party, and organised by the Freedom Riders.

I believe the legislation was introduced to combat outlaw bikie gang activities and its clearly spelled out . To date there have been 856 charges laid against outlaw bikie gang members under this legislation so it appears to be working . The media made a big story about it , that's all . If you believe that you cannot ride your legal bike with your mates on the weekend you have been fooled by the media hype.

Gosh, that was 2 weeks ago now, and as you are both in Qld presumably riding recreationally, I'm pleased to hear that you've not been inconvenienced.
I guess the eminent senior judiciary have been misrepresented by the Press, along with recreational riders that have allegedly been harassed by Qld Police; nothing would surprise me.
Looking forward to riding to FNQ again next Winter. :)
