I have a shattered rear diff on my 1993 200 tdi discovery and I would like to know what diff out of what model would fit other then another 200 tdi discovery?:wasntme:
I was told a 1996 discovery diff would fit and it didn't (axle shafts where too small). Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It will be a 10 spline diff, so pretty much any rover diff (ie not a 110 rear as thats a Salisbury diff) from '85 through to '94ish.
Either or front or rear if its from a RRC or D1, or front from a 110.

Sounds like you already have a diff center from a '96 D1. If so, another easy other option is to just get some axles that will go with that and fit the diff center and matching axles. They will be 24 spline, but otherwise will fit the same. You may need to swap a couple of the short studs in the housing for longer ones from memory.

Other cheap option is to buy a complete rear axle housing from a later D1 and just roll it under and connect it up. Make sure you get it complete with brake calipers if you go that way as the early calipers on your axle don't fit the later housings.

Whereabouts in Geelong are you?

Just sent an sms about the splines - found them very cheap.

Thanks Steve; great to know 24 spline axles with go in.
