G'day steam fans.
It's been a while since I posted a great steam youtube clip but here is one you will enjoy to no end. It will appeal to both the enthusiast as well as the admirer.
It is a clip from the UK and highlights one of 3 remaining "King" class 4.6.0 heavy express locomotives built at Swindon in 1930. In this series the "King" keeps a tight timetable as he hauls a 500 ton train and competes with the H.S.T 124 MPH trains on the main line network, full open regulator through Box hill tunnel and over "Brunel's billiard table" to slipping it's way out of Bath. Some truly beautiful scenery of the English countryside to boot. An excellent documentary of driving and firing a steam locomotive from the footplate.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. I don't know however how welcome this loco would be north of the border though!!!???:angel:
Regards
Robbo.
