Another very nice and original 109 has come up. I have one, don't need one , but if I got hold of it what could I do with it. Those who believe modifying the Series 1's is sacrilegious read no further. I was thinking of doing the early disco diesel conversion or maybe V8, rangy diffs , lift it up with parabolics and bags , Disk brake front end , how about a dual cab like the one in the UK . What ideas do you have to improve on the beast ?????

Why not do something stupid to the one you have already started modifying and leave this one as a "very nice and original" one? Or pass it on to someone that would leave it "very nice and original"? Then dual cab a Series 2a with a V8 under the bonnet, etc, etc, etc.

You need a tub ?? I might know where their is a tub or 2 not that far away. I will be having a look when I get back from my annual pilgrimage to the East for Christmas. One of my agents (lol) will be doing a recon mission in a couple of weeks .:)

Hi John,
I will be having a look at this 109 in a couple of weeks . If I can get it at the right price and its up to it I will drive it back to Perth. I only need one and will probably sell it after I do it up a bit. That KTM of yours would look good in the back of a Series 1 ute.!!

I could do something wild like this .

Land Rover Series 1 Hybrid | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Land-rover-series-1-hybrid-/271342132427?nma=true&si=E2rX9DEC2UfDl48pVHGbKBDCEH0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557)

I won't be looking at it to buy if you're going to "do it up a bit" judging by most of your ideas here so far:eek: I can't spend Dakar budget on old Landy's for a fair while. I'm still dealing with the medical bills from my Safari crash:(.

Richard was over from NZ a couple of nights back he filled me in on your crash and what your doing for DAKAR . He's been following on ADV. What did you break this time?:o I just found out I have been carrying a broken collar bone for almost 2 years . No wonder it was a bit sore. I must have broken again in the car accident from the seat belt. The muscles have been trying to compensate and that's what has been giving me all the neck pain. I am having it de- lumped and plated. in Feb. It wouldn't heal because of the great lump from my 2007 crash. Have a good Christmas im off over East in the 90 tomorrow with my new cruise control it should be a good trip. See you in the New Year.
Mike:)
