View Full Version : What grease for wheel bearings?

Plans are to give the Puma a full service including wheel bearings once back from work. Does anyone know the grease spec &brand for the Puma? And were to get it in Melbourne? I am getting a bit confused here as the spec are different in EU. Thanks m

Any high temp wheel bearing grease........pretty sure mine is castrol

I notice quite a few on here are converting to the twin nut set like the older defenders instead of the stacked? nut which I believe the pumas have

Thanks for that. I know about the conversion, saying that I should be fine with the Puma design if I don't have to swap any bearings. Is your Castrol grease clear or black?

The colour of the grease is irrelevant, it should be HTB (high temperature bearing) grease.

Should not be a Graphite one as far as I remember..........

Good to see you about 100inch (Mark I think??) How is the welding going?

I can not help on the grease, but have you thought of converting to oil fed/lubrication?

Hi Serg! Yes stuck in PNG, driving s....ty Toyotas, haha. I know about the oil conversion, but will stick to grease. Same goes with the nut conversion. I was just getting confused as the branding/type was complete different in Switzerland.
