Hi all,

Excuse my ignorance but our "oil service" indicator started coming on at 15k on the clock of our Puma 90. Took it into MLR and asked them to check it out and service it, they pretty much said they wouldn't service it before 20k and that the message is just based on a counter and nothing clever - ignore it basically was their response.

In this day and age of ECUs and all the other electronic wizardry I'm a bit skeptical, can anyone clarify what triggers that warning?

I actually planned on getting it serviced much sooner (12k) but time has gotten away on me, have to say I was surprised that a dealer said they wouldn't touch it before 20k.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this "first service at 20k" either. My 2.2 got an oil and filter change at 10k.

Cheers,

Tim
