Just got her home. Drives great, all without dramas. Needs a new Accumulator, ordered, window regulator, ordered, front disc rotors, ordered ( Brembo)
Remote key is falling to bits, new shell ordered. Set of airbags ordered. Everything EAS is still there untouched, Front airbags started to leak after the rears were replaced and the owner threw in the towel.
Need to sort the aircon. All seems to function, no checkbook, bill for $600 for new hoses, drier and regas. Says on bill compressor wont kick in. It will if its given a live feed and the aircon blows ice cold. Need help to diagnose this.
Anyone intimate with the aircon side of things

I am mate. I get quite intimate when it works and right into-it when it doesn't!
Pun aside, good buy mate and I've got no idea on the a/c issue.

I have an unused accumulator if you want to buy it off me?? I bought it for Roxy the first before I sank her. It has been rolling round in my tool box for 6 months but is unused complete with o ring.
Roxy II has great breaks so I can't see
My self needing it.
PM me if interested. Although I have moved away from coogee I work down that way so can drop it off if required.

What's its gas system like? I'll be after a sequential system next year when I get back from my holiday. If there is a sticker or something indicating where it was installed, please let me know :)

Just had a look at the Gas system
There are several plates so not 100% sure but I think the makers name is
FACH, made in USA and the model is TAURUS 01, sequential version 8
The Installer was Jensons. 093543522. Doughnut in spare wheel well
I have little knowledge of gas systems but It looks nicely fitted, all well secured and protected apart from at the start of the engine bay unit there is a led hanging from 2 wires, no doubt some signal but no idea what it is for.
I would be interested on any views on the System.

Well the project car is ready to become my daily drive. I must say she is one of the nicest original ( now ) P38`s I have seen. Super clean underneath. unmarked interior, leather is 99% as new
Drives like a dream as it should. Everything working correctly apart from the aircon compressor on a separate switch. Runs sweet on Petrol or the Sequential gas with the 60d high comp motor
Changed lots of parts to get it spot on the main being..
Full F&R set of Brembo Rotors and Pads.
Coil spring conversion removed, EAS reinstated (The best part)
Set of Gen 2 Airbags
Full recon of EAS Valve Block inc solenoid stem reground
Headlining re-covered, sunroof tinted, shade insulated
All oils and fluids changed
2 new front indicator lamps
New ABS accumulator
New Thermostat ( I think that was the cause of the panic sale)
Several hoses
Low coolant alarm, my design.
2 new keys using old transponder and innards, blades cut from code number
Beckham Evoke badges
DRL`s ( not sure about them yet, they light 15 seconds after turn on, dim 25% when sidelights come on, go off when headlights are on and flash with appropriate side indicator, turn off automatically 25 seconds after engine)
Duel battery system all wired but battery not in place yet, Oddesy Extreme pc1700 red
Elec brake controller.
Plenum filter and cabin air filters
Full set Aero one piece wipers
Drivers door window winder regulator
Fixed passenger side door mirror
New crank position sensor
Both exhaust oxygen sensors renewed, left side was faulty
A cut and polish and detail is next on the cards then I Cant wait to get it muddied.
Locker in the pipeline and front winch bar on the cards

I could make you sick if I told you how much she stands me in right now, lets say well below $5k even after all the parts.
Car came with brand new Rad, a second good spare Rad, 4 new Yokohama 255 55 18`s. Second set of 17"" D3 Rims and offroad tyres, full set of wheel nuts, 2 oil filters. I sold the spares to pay for the required new bits

Well done Wayne! It's amazing what "junk" gets left on the side of the freeway. Seriously though great car and a credit to you for the restoration.

Your getting confused, the Red / black freeway car was bought by Peterjam, I just had the joy of piloting it under tow off the freeway when the deal was done. That one needed new heads, a rad and TLC. Now with its new owner.
The one I got was a running car with a panicking owner, I nearly fell over when he accepted my offer much less than the 5k asking price and with the spares thrown in. Peterjam is on AULRO but does not got onto the P38a section much.
You will not doubt have seen him out on AULRO / Teamw4 trips in his Red Classic. He will be the one still moving when every one else is bogged. Then under every one else's car to fix em up to get them home. Did you go on the last Harvey trip?

Hi Wayne, yep wrong car ;). No, I didn't do the Harvey trip, I was interstate at the time. Julimar forest is a possibility on 16th, although it does clash with a yacht race I'm booked in for.

Hey Wayne,
What's the Thor like fuel economy wise on sequential injection gas?
Cant say yet as shes been sitting in the garage under repair for most of the time.
Will start using her for work this week but its only a 20k round trip. will be a while before I get a good idea

Would love to hear the results when you get them.
If my Thor doesn't sell, I will be selling my daily drive instead and convert the Thor to gas for daily duties!
My daily round trip to/from work is 46km...

I will let the gas run out completely (its pretty full at the mo), refill and reset the odometer and see what she manages. I dont even know how big the doughnut tank is or what it effectively provides to the engine

The thing to remember with fuel consumption too, if a car has been doing short trips, over time will get carbon deposits build up and stick in all of those fantastic places where things open and close! That's why it is a good idea to take them on a nice long run every now and then - to get the engine nice and hot and burn off those deposits!
Cheers

I think most of the donut tanks are 70 litres

I am with you on this, there are plenty of chances for a long drive in WA.
I thought one of the upsides of LPG was cleaner engine innards, I will use gas in town then Petrol when on a longer runs.
