Trip Meters,
What are they and how does one get ones slimy hands on one.


Please tell me its something different to the odometer thingy

Umm, as far as I know a trip meter is the resettable oddo (relax bytemark).

A trip computer is a little computer that measures your distance travelled, and how far you can go on what petrol that you have, but that is a trip computer, not a trip meter.

I think I know what you are thinking - I think.

When the speedo is a zero in the 'fender it makes it pretty damn hard to read the trip meter on the speedo. Not that the meter is particularly good as pressing the reset button might or might not reset it and might reset it to 000 or perhaps to some other number style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif It's also very hard to read while on the move....

Ideally need something that can be easily read on the go. A unit with two counters would be ideal as you could use one for each stage of the journey (as per trip notes for example) and the other for the overall journey length, or computing fuel consumption or whatever.

If anyone knows of such a unit - let us know !

(No - I don't want to hear from any Rangie or Disco drivers that they have a computer that does all of this for them. Lazy critters style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif )

I priced one in the Gold Coast about 3 years ago $300
I have read some were when someone use a push bike
trip meter on the tail shaft. I what to look into this.
