Hi, looking at replacing the main battery (2008 RRS) - what do others get? Know these are power hungry beasts even when turned off and key out, so has to be at least the capacity of the original LR one - so whats the recommendation? Thanks in advance.

OK, have been doing some research on the RRS UK forum and they reckon you can fit an Exide 100AH 900CCA battery as a main. BUT will the alternator like this?

Hi marty and you will be fine with that or any other battery.

Thanks for that - I thought it was probably LR bulldust. Just for interest the car is fitted with your excellent isolator for the dual batteries. :BigThumb:

So today ended up fitting a Yuasa main battery - same spec as original Varta - and an Optima yellow top for the auxillary. Now she cranks like a demon - now just have to see whether it holds its charge or if there is a significant drain somewhere, fingers crossed.
