Looks to be bugger all difference between the disco and the rangie, personally neither is my cup of tea bot the only differences i could quickly see are the windscreen rake and the rear side windows. check out the bonnet could be the same piece of kit.

I think they ran out of ideas and just joined what each design team had together.

They call it "DNA"

as in shared dna etc etc

Perhaps it means

Designers Need Assistance !

To be fair to the designers...

I think it was a whole bunch of idiots :!:

Vlad's theory of design by commitee:
If you want a screw up - get one designer.
If you want an absolute abortion - get a whole design team.

And added to Pedro's 2 cents worth ...

At last now we can go shopping at Chatswood, Chadstone et al without scraping the roof entering the carpark and knocking the sprinkler heads off.

Unless I'm missing something (and that is quite possible) the Disco will not be sold for its offroad abilities and LR pedigree (these may have been lost but who knows).

It will be interesting how the next iteration of the Defender will be sold: Central Locking, Climate Control, Curry Hooks and Cup Holders?

Curry hooks ?

Vlad,

I am told that the series 2 Discos have hooks in the cabins to hold the handles of plastic bags containing containers of takeaway vindaloo.

Obviously intensive market research went into this aspect of urban survival and the avoidence of noisesome stains on the carpet. 8O

True story.

Well apparently the most popular take-away in the UK is curry, so it makes sense (to someone).

I would fit some cup holders to the Defender but I usually drink from:

Cans (beer) and they fit nicelly into an esky in the tray

Bottles (water) and they roll around my wife's feet on her side of the cab nicely.

oh, and there's nowhere to put cupholders anyway.

Or curry hooks for that matter.
