Hi Team - my 2a wipers are troubling me a plenty.

The spindles are 3/4" long by 1/4" accross.

What actually fits?

I've tried Series 3 style spindle adapters but the hole is too small. If I drill to expand the spindle hole, the adaptor either breaks my drill burr bit or fractures.

Please help! I've tried three different wiper arm styles and they all don't work.

Web research suggests I need a collet head arm specifically for a late model Series 2a but they only appear to be available new from Canada, of all places!

Since no one posted an answer, I worked out what was going on...

If you have ROUND spindles like me, you need "collet" type heads that are not just unique to early Land Rovers. Vintage cars have them too, but you need to specifically look for this part.

If you have the D-shaped spindles, then you can get away with S3 or even 110 / Defender wipers.

The moral of my story?
If your wipers on your S2a or earlier need replacing, don't just try to drill out a S3 / Defender adaptor and make it fit; order the right part and it simply bolts on securely the first time!

That is old. I've only ever seen those type on Series Ones and Twos. I'm always impressed with the engineering that went into those.

I thought the actual spindle was the same size on all wiper systems, even the old individual motors.
