Has anyone else noticed the p38 on eBay (upside down pics) with the front and rear winches as well as a snorkel? Sound's like the motor is cooked, requiring radiator and head gasket but the front and rear winch setup sound interesting.

Just had a look. Anybody know of the car? The sellers feedback rating is low, but one negative will do that when you don't have many entries. You'd think the they would sort the pictures out. I'd be very dubious about the engine.

Went and checked it out on the weekend. It's pretty rough, got approx. 280,000kms on it with plenty of off road km's and associated bush pin stripes. A few small dents and scrapes and a sagging head lining. Non genuine stereo and original CD shuffler removed.

Positives (?) are its an early Thor not a Gems. Kaymar rear bar and wheel carrier, ARB D2 premium front bar. Winches wired and running but only cheapies and well used. It is still in reg and had been stored under cover for the 3-4 months since cooking.

All round a roughy, but a good starter for an off road P38. The dude said he had had the engine compression checked by mechanic and no slipped liners... Just a suspected head gasket gone. No idea how they determine that with out opening it up, so perhaps still a risk. It went pear shaped when he left a spanner under he bonnet closed it and snapped he overflow return piece off the top tank. Didn't notice steaming until it stopped running.

At the money he would take, it's an easy ROI if you wanted to part it out, and if it's just really a head gasket and radiator a VERY cheap) but rough) Thor. I have an old radiator under the house already... How much is a VRS kit these days?!?

Noooooooo!
