My no5 has thin paint in sections and spending years out in the weather at Eagle Farm has not helped.
Has anyone found where you can buy the flat enamel from?

If you get any of the pressure pack tins make sure they are not the ones with expiry date of Oct 2014. There is a problem with the propellant in them and the paint comes out stringy ruining the paint job. Protec have acknowledged the problem and another batch is available with a different propellant.

I tried to get some cans from Protec Minto (the place to stop when you've just left AFM after picking up your new No.5/Haulmark/Perentie/Unimog/S-Line or Mack. Same street) and they were unable to supply any cam green (Tan and black O.K). They didn't think they would have more supplies till after Christmas.

They obviously knew that had a problem because it took a long time before he came back with the answer. Usually its only a couple of minutes to produce as many cans as you want.

Protec Rep in Townsville tells me that they should have a new batch in this week, hoping it is as I want to do a few touch ups over the Christmas break.

I just picked up a 4 litre tin today ordered in from my local paint shop. They had it in 4 days ( sunshine coast Qld) Cost about $70 for 4l. I also got some Tan which they kindly decanted into a 1 litre can for me as it's only available in 4l tins. I plan to repaint the trailer at the weekend.

Yesterday I took some faulty (exp Oct 14) cans back to Protec in Adelaide. After a short phonecall by the guy at the counter I was given 4 new cans, as that was my initial problem purchase. They thanked me for my patience and understanding,so I am posting this to say thanks Protec,a happy customer who can now get back to his project.

Thanks Ron,

I got the seat base from Jan, unfortunately I need a little more, I contacted T & R wreckers in Adelaide, they had a few middle seats out of defenders to choose from.
They are freighting one up for me, do you require the base back ?
Currently installing a dual battery system in the Landy.

Enjoying playing with the new rig

They probably don't get much call for it. It does go off. I suspect it's a commercial decision so they don't get stuck with out of date stock.
See if you can get a few others in the area interested.
I buy mine by the box.

Protec at Airds Road Minto will sell by the can. I guess they have a lot of sales direct to the Army and customers like me that makes it O.K. to sell by the can without ending up with out of date stock.
