While the Landy is down and out I decided to service the Winch - WOW what a mess - It's a miracle it pulled anything at all. Grease like window putty, Rusted seized bearings you name it. It all real easy any not very expensive to service UNTIL TO GET TO THE ELECTRIC MOTOR !!!!
All it needs is a new set of brushes for the SACO 4.6 Motor (Part Number 900548) - brushes should only cost $ 15 max I thought (stupid me). Sounds simple enough until you try find them. Went to a local brush supplier and he started rabbiting on about graphite density, resistance and eventually successfully technically talked himself out of a sale. I think his objective was to show me how much more than me he knew and he succeeded.
Back to the Web - search search -new motor $ 260.00 (no thanks) search, search but nothing. The only solution I could find was the entire brush mounting plates, springs and new brushes as one complete assembly - bloody $ 160.00 to land it in Perth from Victoria.
Absolutely not happy when all I need are the brushes.
Has anyone found a supplier for these brushes??
