Just wonderin'
I've been looking at the checqer hood reinforcement plates for the Puma.
They're great on the flat wings for standing on, but what about the hood? Does that 'power bulge' thingy (on both the hood and the plating) weaken its load bearing capacity?
Would you stand on the bonnet of your Puma with 3mm chequer?

Don't own one but the pressed bends / hump would make it stronger that flat checker plate alone. and yes I would stand on it.

I have just installed checker plate on both wings and bonnet (13 puma) for that purpose of standing on to gain easy access to the front of the roof rack with no problems

There are a couple of different versions used by the electricity companies over here:

I just installed the Mammouth chequerplate on my bonnet. They look awesome and are incredibly practical if you have a rooftop tent or even if you just keep a lot of stuff up there and find yourself going up and down like a whore's drawers.
Once I'd put the bonnet back on the vehicle I got up there to give it a tentative try but then I cleaned the entire roof while standing on the bonnet yesterday without a bump or bend. I'm 85kilos.
The Mammouth one is a single piece of steel so it's going to be stronger than those two-piece ones. I got it through Daniel at Mulgo.
It's worth getting some stick-back neoprene to line around the edges - stop dirt from getting under it.
Also, when you do the install, take the bonnet off but if you're doing it on your own, be careful! I managed to bend the bonnet switch down so the alarm would "BEEP BEEP" every time I locked the car with the key fob - it thought the bonnet was still open.
