I gather 3 and 4 are joined by just a momentary switch,, do I need to do anything else but run to pos and neg with the rest?

That's not a voltmeter. It's a digital counter.

The display goes up by one each time you operate the up switch. It goes down by one each time you operate the down switch. It resets to zero each time you operate the reset switch.
Measuring volts, it does not.
You need a voltmeter.

So, what were you after?
A voltmeter that measures volts or a digital counter that measures number of operations?

Are we going to have lessons on how to use a Volt Meter? :D
Along with what to look out for when buying one. ;)

Why? Do you need instructions on where to stick the probes?

Just wondering how much you guys have been drinking because this is one hell of a weird thread.
Questions about a volt meter and a diagram of a counter?
Really weird.
FYI, I'm on my first.
Happy Days.

Electronics can get very weird, without drinking or smoking anything
Think Theremins or Van De Graf Generators, or P38 electronics ;)
