Hi all, whats the general concensous on fitting a UHF into a Disco? I've seen some with a Dash Pod  I've seen some hangin from the roof leaving the Mike cord Dangle, looks a bit wanky if you ask me!!! 8) Has anyone fitted a Uhf elsewhere, without hindering your field of vision? I currently have a handheld for the Disco but I have a uniden fitted to the S11A which I am currently thinking of installing into the Disco, any thoughts people?

I have mine fitted to the roof, and yes the cord hangs down, but not as far as it should.

I have just enough cord to be able to use it, the rest it tied up between the mounting bracket and the top of the radio.

If you dont already have a radio unit look for one with a remote face to it, opens up the mounting options a lot more as you done have such a big body to fit anywhere.

I have mine fitted to the rear of the cubby box with a small rectangular remote speaker just above the window switches.

I have the TX 3400 mounted to the left hand side of the drivers glove box, with the mike opposite the curry hook, on the drivers side of the console. its snug and you can clearly here the transmission at quarter volume even cruising on the cape crap road. It is not the most ideal place if you want to be flicking from channel to channel all day,,,I let the scan do that.

Crawfy, I mounted mine on the drivers side of the centre console. It's a Uniden uh 088 so it's not very big, I mounted it so the speaker faces out and it is easy to hear. I find it convenient and easy to operate in this position, although if you have larger one it might be a bit bulky in this position.

I forgot to mention that I attatched the mic bracket to the side of the unit , this keeps it out of the way but still easy to reach. Also the unit is mounted on the side of the centre console with the face pointing towards the roof.

Thanks guy's, I'm currently looking at fitting a Remote Unit, as the one I have in the S11a is a bulky Uniden, i'm still not sure though as a number of mates have fitted an overhead console which then incorporates the Radio!!! I'm reluctant to do so as when i drove Semi's that had radios fitted over head I found it annoying, a mate in the Uk has remodled his dash console and fitted a remote unit, so I'm currently thinking of doing the same!!!! Will post some pics soon!!!!
