So, in an attempt to fall back in love with my car, (long story), I decided to give the wheels a bit of a clean.

Now, I have heard about making up a solution of black tea, plus a stack of off the shelf products, but found one that not only works well, but is Aussie made too :D

As we know, the genuine LR brake pads cause a LOT of dust on the wheels. So, with this in mind, I went for a search.

What I found was Bowdens Own Wheel Cleaner. Picked up a bottle at Autobarn, and gave it ago this evening.

First pic is what I started with. Not too bad, but bad enough:

Second pic is the product in action:

Lucky last is the after shot:

All in all, I am impressed.

Simply spray it on, use a wheel brush to give it a bit of a rub, no need to scrub, leave for about 5 mins, and hose it off. :D

The real test will be when I do the alloys on the D2. They are black with dust.

No affiliation with Bowdens, but quite happy to recommend a good product when I come across one. :)

Looks good, but I find the cold tea works just as well and is a lot cheaper.:). The Rangie rims can be black at times and the tea lifts it easily first time. Only a light wipe over and a rinse and they look like new.

Good to see that the best commercial product you found was Aussie made.:)

I've heard that Bowden's products are Ok.
I like to keep my wheels clean too, but I may be a little more "particular" than some of you guys, because I like to keep the inside of the rims clean too, something that is diificult with multi spoked mags.
I located a brilliant product, the BEST BEST BEST wheelbrush ever made. The "Daytona Wheel Brush"...google it. Ya just spray on your cleaning fluid, then rub away with this brush, which easily reaches all parts of your inside rims, then spray off, & it's all done!
Cheers, Pickles.

Did you find the Daytona brush here in Oz?
The only places I could find are all USA.

Thanks
