Went down to Chifley Dam today for a wee spot of fishing, and noticed a rather interesting vehicle modification as we drove past, so one the way home I stopped to have a closer look and snapped this crappy iPod photo.

:lol2:
Now granted, it's not the worst I've seen, and my own winch install was far from perfect, and took me about 6 months but it's still better than that :D
Oh, and the mighty chariot that carried this impressive accessory was a mid 90s mazda trayback (bt2600?) with crappy vinyl wrap camouflage covering and a faded bear airbrushing/decal/thing on the bonnet.

Unless he reeeeeeeeeeaally likes replacing the front bumper :D
I'd be more concerned about something knocking the clutch lever into freespool and all the wire running off the drum along the highway

Oh the shame of it all, funny thing is I also have a B2600 as my daily "hack" 416000 km on the original petrol engine and I swear aside from the D1 I would back that car anyway to sunset against any other brand of 4WD.
Best I did was snatching a backpacker troopy uphill in soft sand, on Fraser, an onlooker (in a D2) caught up with me later and confessed he was taking bets with his mate on how bad I would bury "Red Dog", reckons he had to eat his words and was pretty impressed......tried to swap for his D2 but he wouldn't be in it (bugger)

Maybe he uses it for winching things around a flat yard/paddock :p

He probably just uses it to winch in a boat or something. Many moons ago I had an old Mitsubishi L300 that I fixed a winch to as pictured for that very reason. Used to beach launch but kept the vehicle well away from water. Worked very well but definitely not used for going bush.
