Hey Kev check your email!! 8)
Here SA the Lightforce Units have a pretty good following!!!!!!!!!!! Becuase of the following,
1) Over here we tend not to go swimming in our Landy's!!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif
2) They are made here in SA so we like to support our local guy's!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
3) They have a pretty good unit hence the write up's in some 4X4 mag's.
4) If my memory serves me correct I think they're warranty's are pretty good? ( I Think they replaced your unit's under warranty style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif )
5) I think they're a pretty good lookin unit!!!!!
6) THEY ARE AUSTRALIAN MADE SO SUPPORT THE AUSSI BOY"S!!!!!!! 8)
So if my opinion is worth anything I'd have no problems installing a Lightforce unit, I'm currently looking to install their Hid unit's to the Disco!!! Looking for another set for the S11a then probably another set on my new project!!!! 8) 2002 DEFENDER HYBRID!!!!!!!!! 8)

Thanks for the info kev.
I did a search first and noticed you had the blitz 240's but I was after info on the xgt's that I understood had always had the waterproofing.
I have never had problems with my hella's but I like the look of the lightforces because they are huge.

I am led to believe (can't remember why whom) that the Blitz lights have had the breathers extended recently (but then again, what's recently eh?!) - so perhaps they are better now.
The XGT's do have a better system but I don't know anyone that has tried to sink them to find out how well they really do work.
I have heard good things about Lightforce in that they readily do warranty replacements (which is not to say they necessarily do lots of them, just that when something goes wrong they are happy to make amends).
I was thinking of the Blitz's initially, but like lewy110 I would like more info on the XGT's from someone who owns a set.
Also would the 240's fit on an ARB bar comfortably ? Or would 170's be a better bet? Anyone ?

Hey guys
I have two sets. the 170 on my pajero io and the 240's on my defender. (i tried to fit the 240's on the io but just too big) they are both awesome lights particularly the 240's. both have done numerous river crossings without a problem. i did the simpson desert and surrounds over 8500kms in three weeks most on corrogations and they did not budge and the improvement in night driving is unbelievable. yes i'd buy them again!
I have just bought a wide spread cover for the 240's and will post a reply when i see how it goes.
Cheers style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

My mate has just put soome xgt's on and when he's used them a bit i can ask and then comment otherwise i have no idea.
Does anyone know anything about aftermarket seats for a defender style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Looking forward to the comments as I was wondering whether the XGT's were worth the extra $ above the price of the Blitz (I presume you have the Blitz).
And also let us know how the dispersion lens (wide) goes.
There is another thread on here somewhere on seats so do a search. Aerotech used to make them (possibly still do). Have you got a wagon? My single cab ute could do with better seats (I'm tall) but they probably wont fit !!

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif Mate i think the blitz are awesome and probabl6y wouldn't bother with the extra expense.
I style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif have a wagon and i'm 6'2". i know aerotech make them but they were taken over and impossible to get an eta on seats anywhere from 1 to 8 months depending when you call. I spoke to a guy in the lroc club and he had the light truck suspension seat from stratos which he said was great in a disco but he is 6' and it just fits his legs.
I'm thinking of the stratos compact which are a little more expensive (around $70 more) and getting some mates to make me a custom set of runners.
I was thinking a hinge arrangement at the back made from steel tubing with wing nuts on the front so it could hinge back for under seat access. i suppose you could do the same to hinge forwards
