Instrument Panel

Hi All,

So I decided to pull apart the instrument panel so that I can paint it...

Here is the front of it before I touched it:

I am struggling to remove the final 3 items:

1) I believe that this is a push/pull lever that is wired up to the positive (red) side of the "inspection" points. I can loosen the nut on either side but this doesn't help. Do I have to force the actual knob off?

2) I have no idea what this is. It is a push/pull lever located on the top right hand side of the panel (above a white knob)...
Again - I can loosen the nuts but this is no help. Suggestions?

3) The last thing that it currently beating me is the actual ignition switch. It is clipped on via a screw/nut.. I have WD40'd the screw/nut but so far no luck. The nut is tiny which I think is the problem - I can't get a good hold of it.. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions on how to remove these 3 stubborn items would be great!

I sure hope that Gav can work out how too wire it all back together... I did take photo's of the front and back of it before I touched it though and I do have the workshop manuals also... Fun times ahead for Super Gav! :wasntme:

Looking at the second picture it looks like the knob screws on. The first picture shows what look like spanner flats on the back of the knob.

yes the knob on that push pull switch screws off, I have one here in my scratch box.
and if I am not mistaken, the ignition switch comes out after you spring that wire clip off, and pulls out to the key side of the panel.

Don't worry about the wiring mate - I'll sort that.:)

Are you going to take the glass out of the gauges to clean them up? If you use a small screwdriver on the back side of the steel bezel that holds the glass on, you can work the tabs up that crimp it on, you can then repaint the bezels and clean the gauge up - if you do this, be very careful of the printing of the gauges - it can smudge or wipe off if you are too harsh with it. A very light rub with a damp cloth is all you need.

If you're not sure, leave them and I can so them next time I'm up.

The knob is to turn the dashlights on and off.
They all come apart fairly easily, screw the knob off and pull it out from the back
