Auxiliary ventilation on L322

Hi All can anyone tell me if the auxiliary ventilation was an option on the petrol 03 L322 , I was under the impression that it's a diesel system , yet on my screen there is an option to switch it on and set the time .Does it work or not ?

I'm sure it works in my 03 petrol vogue. It's been a while since I've tried it though.

Hi Dockstrada, while I can’t help you with the info on your specific model, the feature, where available, is a big battery power user and if you are not driving your RR much, I would recommend against using this feature.

So ! I just had a go at setting it up , in essence all it is a ambient air circulator , being that the heater feature is not available in OZ , So just a gimmick as it seems . I can also see how this could be a battery killer .
Couldn't be happier with the truck though , it's going to be difficult to hang on the Defender after having the L322 off road .

I had my 03 TD6 RR off road more than a hundred times and loved every minute of it.

Once you get the hang of it, you will be VERY surprised what you can do with your RR.

On the other hand, my 07 TDV8 RR is a total flop off road and a HUGE disappointment compared to your RR.

The heater system is fitted to the Vogue.
You have an auxiliary water pump on your heater control valve, both are located inboard of nearside front wheel- up against left cylinder head.
The water pump circulates the heat from the engine for up to 15 minutes after shut down of engine......should you so desire.

The valve block (plastic) seals are a weak point as they fail around the solenoid plunger valves. The pieces then wash through your cooling system.

The tractor engines that some people have fitted to their Range Rovers have a fuel burning heater (diesel)under the hood, you can set the burner to ignite to warm the cab for you before you drive to your office in central London on a cold winters day:wasntme:

I don't know about the 07 performance against the 03 Range Rover , in my opinion as capable as the Range Rover is, I can't see my defender being left behind by any model Range Rover when the going gets tough. The defender is a tractor covered in sheet metal . But the ride and comfort on and off road in the RR is superb.

If you put a decent set of tyres on the L322 it is VERY capable. Mine surprised me even with 20" H/T on it. If I was prepared to scratch the paint or bend a few panels and fit some M/T's it would keep up with most in pretty much any terrain - it is a seriously good off roader.:)

But there's the rub - would you do that to your shiny Rangie when you have the Deefer? I wouldn't.:)

Drivesafe's comments are based on his experience, regulars here will know he has had and is still having a lot of problems with his '07, to the point where terrain response hasn't worked for a long time - so it gets bogged in his front yard as soon as 1 wheel slips.

Oh yeah, if your Deefer has traction control, I would agree, a stock RR will not leave a stock Deefer behind off road. However, I feel totally refreshed after a 10hr day in the Rangie, I can't say the same for a Deefer.

Yeah I have an 08 SVX so it's a well sorted truck with all the fruit , not to mention all the mods I have thrown at it , It's almost un stoppable .I'm sure the L322 with a set of MTZ will also be a formidable 4x4 , but who wants to trash such a pretty truck .

I couldn't agree more re the 10hr days, though even with the Recaro seats and soft suspension which are quite acceptable , I'm still knackered after a long drive in the Defender . All I can put it down to is road and wind noise fatigue .
