first drive out, a bit of a road test to see how everything is working, very happy, but still work to do!!

how did you go galvanizing the chassis?

Once I had it stripped down to the chassis, I had it sand blasted and then galvanised, I was surprised at how cheap it was to get it done, and hopefully the chassis will last another 40 odd years!!
Then the slow process of the rebuild started, which still continues, one day it will be finished!!

If you dont mind me asking how much did it cost to get sandblasted and galvanized?
I am looking at doing this with a series one and a series 2

The sand blasting and galvanising was about $300, but I had spent quite a bit of time cleaning the chassis prior to taking it to the galvanisers. so there was not to much that required cleaning.
The colour is matched from inside the flaps on the bulkhead, it was the only place that had never seen the light of day, so it is pretty much back to its original colour out of the factory.
All the panels were stripped back to bare metal before re spraying, a lot of time went in the preparation of the panels.

Inspiring resto Aussie Bean.

The things like this that I am finding lurking around in the series threads are making me want to keep "Budder" back from the beach and save him (inland) for a proper rebuild... why can't I just buy a normal car(s)?!?

These Landies will probably be the end of me!

I can solve that problem for you Dave - do you want a tray back for the beach...:angel::wasntme: you could keep Budder at home then...
