Rodeo taking a short cut

Yesterday a P Plater towing a large Caravan behind a Rodeo lost it.
I know that road, it's brand new and there are sometimes cross winds , I notice the D2 get buffeted by wind and large semis if they pass.

The Rodeo looks like a little too light a tow vehicle to handle a big Van on 100kph. road, he was a lucky man.

That is a big van,I bet it exceeds to Rodeos towing limit.
Perhaps he is a trainee stunt driver and was trying to jump the overpass;);););););)

We used to have a tri-axle caravan around that size. Bought it in Mt Magnet, lived in it in Marvel Loch for a couple of years before eventually taking it to Alice Springs, living in it for a while there, and then selling it.

It was the reason for buying our first Landrover product (Rangie Classic 2 door). I wanted a Ford F100 to pull this thing, but discovered at the time that SWMBO was pregnant with our second child - so a F100 ute was out of the question.

Purchasing the Rangie for a tow vehicle for this was a huge mistake - it was a bloody hopeless tow vehicle (though was a great car in so many other ways). In the end, whenever we wanted to move the van over any distance, I used to hire a Landcruiser.

You need the weight of something like a Landcruiser / F100 or larger to safely pull something like this. A lightweight ute like a Rodeo is just an accident waiting to happen. Good to see that nobody was injured, and hope that the young bloke involved has learned from the experience.

When I first saw this on the news I thought that it was a massive van. Once that thing started moving around I reckon he became a passenger. Lucky to end the way it did.

I reckon he would have been heading down to the lower end of the bay to set up his summer vacation spot. My sister lives down that way and every summer the Terrorists invade, take over the place like they own it, some are rude, impatient and a different sort of breed. It's so over crowded that beach camp sites are drawn on a ballot system.
I wonder if he will sell off his camp spot or still tow it.:angel:
