That setup looked like the most over engineered trench digger I have ever seen. :D They left some pretty deep grooves in the ground.

I saw this a few days ago as well
i dont think its a really good comparison though
the Green tractor with the John Deere Colors is more for speed and sled pulling I think where as the traction engine is very different. I am pretty sure it doesn't even have 4WD.

I think that if it was a proper John Deere of size matching the bonnet and properly ballasted, it would be quite a different result.

Steam engines have maximum torque a zero revs. Also consider the mass on those driving wheels. Lotza traction.
