Only around the headlights.
That front end looks more like a Pokemon with it's mouth open.

Yes the headlights look "like" a new Territory which in turn look "like" the new Rangie.
Anyway I'd have one....

things like this tell me that car companies have nothing to do with car enthusiasts, but only bean counters and $$$$

Whats the point of it? It is not a sports or touring car, it is not a luxury limosine, it is not an offroad vehicle. It fits a market that was created by people with the idea of making money, ie SUV etc. When 4x4s became more civilised, more and more started to appear in cities, for no good reason. So for all the **** that goes along with this, the above linked car will be very good at not being very good at one field.
for the money there are many better cars or offroaders.
How many that own this will take them off the front lawn, and if not why waste that $$$ in R&D, build etc, that could have been put in to a better car.

It's not a waste of money as far as teh company is concerned. They don't care, or expect, that it will be taken off road. I'll bet almost none ever will be.
Think of it more as a station wagon / family people mover / replacement for the old "flying brakes" of yesteryear.
I don't think there will be too much compromise involved I doubt much 'off road" capability will be included. Think Porsche Cayenne.
The fact is that its money well spent as they will make $$$ from the excercise - which of course is what business is all about.

It's the other way around. Getting into the high margin luxury SUV market allows them to keep developing the specialist vehicles.
Remember the stink when Porche went down this path? Without the Cayenne, Porche was heading for trouble. The Cayenne was essential for survival.
I wonder if the Bentley SUV will now be resurrected?

One could argue the Aston's "boot" is more Bentley like, and the Bently looks more like a "average" SUV.
The side profile of the Aston has a bit of RR Evoque about it too....
(except that the Astons roofline drops away whereas the RR hip line rises.... ). Eiether way the effect is similar.

If I had to choose it would be the Bentley. Just not sure how to fit a bullbar to it.:p

Vlad and Max, you have only reinforced what I said. I did not say they would not sell or make dollars. I did say that they are not a pure car or 4x4, they are a compromise, that is made for a market created by marketers to make $$$. Yes the Cayenne is successful, but does not make it a brilliant car or 4x4.
The worlds economy is made from successful, but pointless inferior products. Success does not mean best or better product.
