There are several relays I'm struggling to identify/understand the purpose of on my GS 110.
The first set is under the fuse cover panel on the firewall.
70653
The far left green Tyco relay activates when the key is turned to the 'on' position, however when removed, everything seems to work as normal. I thought it might have been for the glow plugs but the judging by the voltmeter, they still draw current when this relay is removed.
The second relay from the left kills the indicators when removed, so that one seems to have a purpose. Although this is not the flasher unit, the flasher unit is the black object next to the red (intermittent wiper) relay behind the fuse panel.
The engine will not crank when the third from the left is removed so I assume this one is for the starter solenoid.
The far right one appears to do nothing at all, I thought it may have been a headlight relay as I have heard rumours of Perenties having headlight relays, but the lights and everything else work ok when it is removed. There is no 'click' from this or any other relay when the lights are turned on.
Under the bonnet there are another two green Tyco relays behind the master cylinder.
70654
When the one on the right is removed, the engine will start, but not stop, so this is related to the EDIC motor.
When the one on the left (with the fuse attached) is removed, the engine starts and stops as normal and all electrical accessories appear to work with or without it fitted, so its purpose is also unclear.
Any insights would be appreciated.
