Timing a 98 model 3.9

hi I think these are a low compression motor and the timing should be 6deg before would this be correct with the vac advance disconnected I have high fuel useage problems regards warnie

Hi mine and many others have been greatly improved with a 10Deg BTDC..but mine is on gas and I use premium petrol ...Gary

Ive just set mine to 10 BTDC as i was having horrific fuel figures. I also replaced the vacuum advance becuase mine was not working. I have not had a chance to give it a decent run yet to see if i have had any improvement.

thanks guys I only use unleaded but not the e10 and shall try the 10 deg before regards warnie
