Must go on......yep it's pretty hot up here but need to prep for the renderers to arrive early next week

removed two rows of bricks for each of the new sliding doors and removed 8x3 ceiling....".a quick trip to bunnings for a 16mm masonry drill as I have discovered we have no power to the pool after yesterday work

Lot a couple of kilos in sweat

We started a couple of months ago with the plan to build a fourth bedroom (not legal height) with a two way ensuite.......we currently have a three bedroom two story brick house and the two boys are sharing a room a fourth room is required

Well the scope has blown out a tad, long story........I decided to lower the concrete floor by 150mm to make the room legal, now need two sliding doors as the original doors were no longer suitable an I removed a window and cut a massive opening for the bedroom, walk in robe, air-con, second lounge all new ceilings, office/study area and the list goes on.............oh and lowering the slab has now caused issues with the drain for the new double shower, it's now lower than the ORG (I think that's what they are called) need to find the sewage line in the back yard now

Oh the joys

Anyway it's about to get exciting back wall and opening to be rendered next week, we can than measure up for the doors, carpenters are book for Monday week for the walls, electrician/ air-con dude later that week, than the plasters Monday fortnight than fit off electrically and air-con followed by painting. If we have enough money the walk in robe will be install, the ensuite will have to wait.

Mmmmmm.. I have an issue here... Yup, there's a lot that needs renovating..... But as long as there's a 101, Series 2 and tractor in the shed, it won't be done in the near future!!!! SWMBO does not share the same view tho! :D

See the new opening, it started as a window like the one you can see. I copied the steel work for the other opening, needed some brick work done to finish it all off........well had to do it twice, the things you learn when renovating

I was thinking that removal of the existing slab was going to be a nightmare by hand - nice work on getting the tools to do the work :)

PS: To avoid confusion, I'm talking about the jackhammer on the bobcat, not your bride :D

Looks like a major job, but sounds as if it will be worth it when finished. We once spent 10 years progessively renovating and extending a previous house. After that, I vowed never again. Deliberately bought a small house for the two of us this time. It could be extended, but each time we look at the idea, we just shake our heads and go, 'No thanks'.
