LT230 and R380 300Tdi and V8 compatibility???

I'm sure that this has been discussed before. I've done the serach but nothing came up.

Are L230 and R380 interchangeable between V8 and 300 Tdi?

I'm betting that L230 is, and R380 not?

What about the option of keeping original clutch housing?

LT230 is the same between V8 and Tdi on a D1.
The V8 R380 has taller ratios on all gears but 4th, but you can still interchange them if you match bellhousings and input shaft to the engine (I think the diesel has the smaller spigot bush diameter).
