Niagara falls has frozen over. Dam that must be cold to do that. People there have been throwing boiling hot drinks in the air to see them freeze almost instantly. Niagara Falls stunningly 'frozen' by polar vortex (http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2014/01/10/09/16/niagara-falls-stunningly-frozen-by-polar-vortex)

I bet no one is having a pee in the woods over there. Your pecker would fall off the moment it was exposed to the air.
It will be interesting to watch it thaw - the moment when the icy water starts to drop again.

Not quite frozen - the photos show the Canadian side still running, just the river frozen a bit, which is unusual. The ice all over the railings and everywhere else is normal and makes it an interesting place to walk. And it's "fun" trying to get all the ice off your windscreen if you've parked nearby for a while!

Apparently it's that cold over there that people can't even talk to each other normally out doors. The moisture in your breath freezes and causes what you have said to come out of your mouth as icicles.

The person you are trying to speak to has to catch the icicles and take them inside and throw them in a hot frying pan to thaw them out to hear what you have said to them. :p

That's if they can catch them. Otherwise they have to wait until spring to hear what you said.

many years back Lake Ontario used to freeze over.It never did when I lived there. I would like to know what AULRO members over there have to say about the cold as some I have talked to havent been overly put out by the cold.

I've never heard of it doing that. Lake Erie did, rarely, I think because it was shallower.

this is the story I remember being told about from my grand parents as a kid.
The day Lake Ontario froze over: Will the events of 1934 be repeated? (http://www.mynewwaterfronthome.com/greatlakesfreeze.aspx)

Probably why I became a climate refugee !

I don't think that's a new thing. I think I've seen photo's of it frozen before.

I lived in Ontario from 89-91 and saw the Niagra falls frozen a couple of times. Will have to dig some old photo's out to compare but I don't think its that unusual for them to freeze.

Apparently there was two guys staying warm by a fire near the lake. One said to the other it`s so cold I took a slash and it froze. The other bloke said you call that cold. Rummaged around in his jocks and peeled of a skid mark. Said watch this and held it over the fire and it turned into a fart. Or so it was said  :wasntme:
