Geelong Eases Parking Restrictions

About time some council has taken a sensible view on parking restrictions and not seen it as a cash cow to milk the long suffering motorist of their hardearned.:)

Mayor Darryn Lyons, that photographer fella with the weird multi painted hairdo, has made a good move in his early days as Mayor of Geelong.

Parking limits extended from 1 to 2 hours.
Grace periods extended from 10 to 15 minutes.
Free parking on Saturday.

The traders in Geelong must be happy about this too and I certainly hope this sensible descision by the Mayor is taken up by other councils.:D

Will be interesting to see what the actual benefits are.
Still have to pay for parking during the week, just you have to move less often and get an extra 5 mins to do it.

Guess my rates will be going up to cover the revenue loss :wasntme:
