Does anyone know of a manufacturer of an auxiallary tank to suit a defender 130 ute. I want to leave original tank and put additional tank in front of back diff. I have heaps of room under the tray. Long ranger's tank is a replacement for rear tank and they remove rear anti-sway bar which is illigal in most states. Anyt help would be appreciated. Might be cheaper to make my own???

Cheers Gaz

Yeah the fact many manufacturers offer a replacement tank requiring removal of the sway bars is bizzare. :?

Perhaps they mean its for the 110's (no sway bars).

Anyone gpt a long range tank in their 110 ? What did it cost you, what range do you get and would you buy it again.....

I should of been a boilermaker rather than a Sparkie. Probally good market for custom tanks, Bullbars etc for Landies rather than the so called mass production stuff you get. I know in some of the Discovery long range tanks they extend the brackets for the anti-sway bars to get the fuel tank to hang lower for increased capacity. In the ARB catologue they state the 130 defender anti-sway bar to be removed for fitment of their long range fuel tank. I want to keep them on because the ute is a bit more top heavy with the canopy on. We dont have any hills over here to warrant disconnecting them anyway. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif

Why do they still call them "Boilermakers" :?:

I'll bet most of them have never even made a boiler....

Hi Vlad,

A factory that manufactures boiler-makers ?

I'd heard there was a shortage of apprentices but didn't realise anyone had come up with that sort of innovative solution. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Yeah i might get my local sheet metal worker busy and by a new bottle of gas for the mig. Not quite sure where to source solenoids and stuff or gor for a transfer pump. Might be worhty for a new thread later  Plenty of room under the utes to put a decent tank. Could get @ 200 lt tank there, plus standard 80L tank.

Kev,
I'm not quite sure on the Extreme aux tanks but i did notice on Opposite locks website they manufacture a 55L aux tank. Not quite sure who makes there tanks?May be worth a look? :?: An old boss of mine made his own replacement fuel tank for his extreme and when he went to put it in he had to remove the rear axle assembly to get it in. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif
