Hi all,
Am nearing retirement (yippee) and the car I want is a Rangy L322(2002-2006).
I have read all the pitfalls and gripes regarding the L322-especially the gearbox- and I still want one.

I'll own my house,be doing a bit of part time work for extra cash as I'll be on the pension when I do retire. Will be getting the IID tool to help with the maintenance of vehicle as I plan to do most of it myself.:)

Soooooo Am I mad or not for wanting a bit of luxury for my retirement years.

All comments welcome good and bad to help make up my mind.
There's a couple on carsales at the moment that I like the look of...:D

Gazza just do it you know you want to.

Used to race bikes at a short circuit track at Castlereah years ago.
It was great fun. Nice fast track.

Don't discount a D3 with all the fruit or a RR Sport ;) as they have the same platform as a D3/4 I would suggest that you have a look at the British Off Road.com website as they have a 2006 Disco 3 HSE, Silver, leather, with ALL the fruit 187,000klm with log books and written warranty & reversing camera they want $39,990 for it, but I know the staff and owner well (dealt with them 20 years) so might be able to do a little better for you :)

I have an MY05 L322 TD6 .:D:D Not real problems, yet anyway. Love it. Beautiful ride. Budget didn't stretch to a V8 diesel but never mind. I'm still a happy camper. Loved my P38 but this is just so much nicer. Go for it

Hi all,

I hope mine is one of them! Adelaide's not that far from NSW, truly :) It comes with an IID tool included in the price, too.

They are great cars. You will love owning one. They do everything well, and get fantastic fuel economy to boot.

Cheers
David

Yes I still have it. For some reason it disappeared off the markets, but it is back on. Jim

Just do it. You are aware of the trannie issues - that's the main one. Everything else is just routine maintenance. If you have to pay a mechanic to work on it it will be a bit pricey, but if you're handy with the spanners, they are a relatively easy car to work on - don't let anyone tell you they are difficult to work on - they are brilliantly engineered.

Buy your parts from Old Blighty - they are cheap over there, and plentiful.

Buy one, you will love it.:)
